Tokyo, Aug. 30 (Jiji Press)--Kazuo Inamori, who founded Kyocera Corp. and spearheaded the turnaround of Japan Airlines , died of old age at his home in Kyoto on Wednesday. He was 90.    The renowned Japanese businessman, known for his unique management philosophy, was also the founder of DDI Corp., which later became part of major telecommunications company KDDI Corp. .    Born in Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan, Inamori graduated from Kagoshima University's faculty of engineering in 1955.    He initially worked for an insulator maker in Kyoto but established Kyoto Ceramic Co., the predecessor of Kyocera, in the western city in 1959 together with colleagues. He became president of the firm and developed it into a globally leading electronic parts maker backed by cutting-edge technologies.    Following telecommunications deregulation, Inamori established DDI in 1984 to break through the monopoly of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corp. , believing that it was necessary to make long-distance calling rates cheaper for the sake of Japanese people.
